Congressional Internships offer students a unique opportunity to participate in the workings of the United States Senate.
The Internship Program in the Washington D.C. office will provide an opportunity to experience firsthand how the United States Federal Government operates. Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, attending Senate hearings, assisting with legislative research projects, answering constituent phone calls, assisting with incoming correspondence, and providing U.S. Capitol tours.
The Internship Program in our North Carolina offices will provide interns with the opportunity to work for the Federal Government while remaining in our great state. Interns will be involved in my office’s in-state work, specifically in constituent service and outreach. Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting caseworkers, answering constituent phone calls, assisting with incoming correspondence, and working on special projects related to community outreach.
My Office offers 3 Intern sessions each year, both in Washington, D.C., and in our state offices. The internship program is generally catered towards college sophomores and juniors from the state of North Carolina. Part-time internships are available on a case-by-case basis.
