Budd, Ted (R-NC) Military Construction (MILCON) Congressionally Directed Spending Requests

Senator Budd only requests congressionally directed spending (CDS) for military construction (MILCON) projects identified as planned projects in the future years defense program, identified on an unfunded priority list submitted to Congress as required by 10 U.S.C. § 222a, or on the cost-to-complete list. 

Senator Budd does not submit CDS requests for any other purpose.

To upgrade, renovate, and modernize utilities at MCAS Cherry Point. If this project is not funded, MCAS Cherry Point will not be able to provide a reliable utilities infrastructure required to support the planned basing of F-35 squadrons resulting in unwarranted operational risk.

To finalize planning and design of a 107,600 SQFT Aircraft Maintenance Hangar and supporting facilities that provide consolidated multipurpose space for the maintenance, repair, and major overhaul of military aircraft assigned to the Army National Guard.

Seymour Johnson Air Force Base

To construct a new range to include 35 lanes to meet existing requirements and decrease unit and personnel need to travel for training. The existing 14 point range is nearly 50 years old, the smallest across Air Combat Command, and requires a high level of maintenance and repair.
