Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) released the following statement after press reports that the Biden Administration planned to transfer 11 detainees from the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to Oman shortly after the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel:
“President Biden is more interested in appeasing his radical left supporters by closing Guantanamo Bay than fulfilling his duty to protect and defend the American people. It is beyond reckless for the Biden Administration to even consider releasing terrorists at a time when terrorism is on the rise again in the Middle East. Under no circumstances should these terrorists ever be released.”
